At what point will the conservative mind simply implode or explode due to being subjected to the real world?
Now that they have their "The Donald", who completely embraces the "if I said it, it must be true (nevermind reality)" mindset as the front runner, all bets are off.

As long as they explode the other way.

Well, the Tea Party is well under way raping the people of the United States- starts at the local level, but now, thanks to the last election (stolen thanks to gerrymandering).
Typical libertarian acts- take advantage of what the society has built, without giving anything back. After all- it's all about ME.

The Grand Lie- "It's Your Money..."

Say something enough times, and people wear down and start to believe- like telling us "It's your money" when it comes to taxes.
I do believe that I can use the same rationalization to not pay any of my bills- I'll just write on Capital One statement "Sorry, it's my money, and you cannot have any".
We get tangible value from taxes paid- at least I know I drive on public roads, enjoy public fire and police protection, am protected by a public military, use utilities delivered over public lands via public infrastructure. I enjoy all of this because I am an American, and more than 200 years ago we decided to create a free society together - E Pluribus Unum .

Bend over, There's a New Senate in Town....

So, the newly elected Senate wasted no time in starting to pay back their handlers and getting rid of those pesky Dreamers.... Ram through the Keystone XL by promising 42,000 jobs (a figure that smells as much as the 35 jobs the other side cites), interestingly enough, the pipeline will raise gas prices, if it manages to get any oil actually to the other end (Trans Canada has a rather poor record).
Desperately trying to convince people that they actually have an agenda other than "against Obama", which, of course, they do not.

Well, I guess we have the government we deserve, but I sure don't deserve the crop of current jerkwads, dead set on destroying the US government.

Apprentice What?

So, Mr. Tramp Trump has a new apprentice show. Teaching people that all you have to do to "make it" in business is to lie, cheat and screw over anyone who stands in your way.

Midwest Meltdown

Interesting when fiscal theory meets the real world- like it has in Kansas. Gov. Brownback is apparently having a bad run of days , when the tax cuts have done nothing to fuel the economy, instead, as they always do, they simply make the rich richer, the poor poorer, and adds to the deficit (same as the trillion dollar Bush tax cuts, which some put at a price of over 6 trillion, and has been extended by Obama.

I feel sorry for the people of Kansas, but sorrier for the rest of us.

Blame it on OPEC

So, oil prices have plummeted- somewhat a double edged sword. Bad for Texas, North Dakota, and Louisiana, good for the average American. Interestingly enough, most news media calls OPEC responsible, as they have always cut production before to maintain price point.
The thing is- the US is the one who greatly increased output (at a cost that is yet to be determined, ecologically)- OPEC had zero to do with it.

Duh!

On a side note- what a perfect time to raise the fuel tax, and turn it in to a percentage, rather than flat. The funds would go to the repair and replacement of our transportation infrastructure- a no brainer.

It's too bad that a no-brainer item like this would get zero consideration from the no brain US Legislature .
